Before you jump in

Mr.doob’s Three.js port includes the shareware descent.hog and descent.pig assets for Episode 1. Unlike a walking FPS, your ship can move vertically, slide sideways and rotate in enclosed tunnels. Learn those controls before rushing into combat. The repository describes replacing the assets with your own registered data for the full game; that is not a promise of a one-click retail importer in the public launcher.

How to play Descent in your browser

Open the project and let its assets load, then review the control overlay.
Start a new game using the available shareware content and an easy difficulty.
Practice forward thrust, sliding, vertical movement and turning in the first room.
Follow the mine passages, rescue hostages where possible, destroy the reactor and reach the exit before the countdown ends.
