This Wine-Assembly launcher runs the original Windows demo of Need for Speed III. It offers a sample of the Hot Pursuit era of road racing, not the complete retail car and track selection. The current launcher may enter a prepared race directly and fetch further track data during startup. A keyboard makes steering and acceleration easier to control than a small touch screen.

How to play Need for Speed III Demo in your browser

Open the launcher and wait for both the program and race data to load.
If the race opens directly, click the play area to give it keyboard focus; otherwise choose the available race in the demo menu.
Use the configured acceleration and steering keys, and brake before sharp bends rather than holding full throttle.
Inspect the controls and camera options from the game menu, then retry the course to improve clean laps.
